Answer:

Given :

  • The radius and height of a cylinder are in the ratio 14 : 5.
  • It's volume is 308 cm³.

To Find :

  • It's radius.

Formula to be used :

  • Volume of the cylinder = πr²h

Solution :

Given, the radius and height of a cylinder are in the ratio 14 : 5.

⇒ r/h = 14/5

⇒ r = 14h/5

Volume of the cylinder = πr²h,

⇒ 308 = 22/7 × (14h/5)² × h

⇒ 308 = 22/7 × 196/25 × h³

⇒ 308 = 4312/175 × h³

⇒ 308 = 24.64 × h³

⇒ h³ = 308/24.64

⇒ h³ = 12.5

⇒ h = 2.32 cm

Radius,

r = 14h/5

⇒ r = 14 × 2.32/5

⇒ r = 32.48/5

⇒ r = 6.496 cm

Hence, Radius of the cylinder is 6.496 cm.
