Answer:

x=6, y=4.

2x+3y=24

2x=24-3y. ----(i)

2x+y=16. ----(ii)

From eq.(i),

24-3y+y=16

24-2y=16

Dividing the eq. by 2,

12-y=8

y=4.

Putting in eq.(ii),

2x+4=16

2x= 12

x=6.
