Ans. The speaker's family want a dog who will be strong and aggressive,catch the flower thief, scare away strangers, bark at the thiefs, chase and catch the thief, RANGA.

Ans. At the beginning of the narrative, Attila doesn't able to measure up their expectation because the immediate reason for buying Attila was the series of house breaking and thefts in the neighbourhood and the householder decided to put more trust in a dog than the police.

3. Why were the family members satisfied with the name Attila?

Ans. The family members were satisfied with the name Attila because when the name was suggested everyone agreed and a shout of joy went up to the skies.

4. Why did the family research about the 'Scourge of Europe'? What were the findings?

Ans. The family researched about the Scourge of Europe to find out what he was like as their dog Attila exhibited a love of humanity which was sometimes disconcerting.

5. How did Attila respond to the entry of strangers?

Ans. Attila responded to the entry of strangers by walking up to them and welcoming them.

6. What issues did the speaker's mother have with the dog?

Ans. The speakers mother was not happy with the dog, because it ate like an elephant and was too friendly with strangers, and she was afraid that one day, it might make friends with a burglar and get the house robbed.

Ans. Attila was however very friendly in nature. The night when the burglar Ranga broke into Attila's home to steal, he is welcomed and licked by the dog. Attila doesn't bark at the stranger.

Ans. Attila proved to be a hero by accident. His master saw him on the street and called out to him, while the dogs new friend the burglar saw the man and started running. Attila started running after the burglar and clumsily blocked him.
