hydration energy of aluminium is greater than calcium.

compared to calcium the radius of aluminium is less so the charge density will be more for aluminium so it can easily bind with water tightly.

to underdstand more clearly if you think water molecules as big balls and ca also big ball more radius so if you try to put them together their they dont bind closely, but if you keep small ball (al) in center and surrounding big balls then small is completely closed by big balls from all sides and they are closer.
