The ratio of the volume of water in Bottle P to the volume of water in Bottle Q is 3:4. Rajeev drank 40ml of the water from Bottle P and the ratio then becomes 13:20. How to find out how muchwater was there in bottle P first?

Let the quantity of water in bottle P=3x and that of in bottle Q=4x.
According to question,
⇒20(3x−40)=4x×13
⇒60x−800=52x⇒8x=800⇒x=100
So, quantity of water in bottle P=3×100
=300mL.
