I am very curious as to why you are using these two years given that there was not really all that much going on in Tojo's life during these two years.

In 1905, Tojo graduated from the military academy.  He was sent to the war that Japan was having with Russia, but by the time he got there, there was really no need for him and he had a very dull time.  So he was not really involved in that war.

In 1912, there not even a war going on.  The only think I know of that Tojo did in that year was to enter the War College.  This was an elite school for promising young officers.
