(a) Current = 0.183 Ampere

(b) Current = 2.20 Ampere

For electric bulb:

Voltage = 220 V

Resistance = 1200 Ω

Solution:

According to Ohm's law, the current is ratio of voltage and resistance, hence, can be written as:

I= V/R

Plug the given values in the above formula:

I = 220 / 1200 = 0.183 Ampere

(b) Given:

For electric heater coil:

Voltage = 220 V

Resistance = 100 Ω

Solution:

According to Ohm's law, the current is ratio of voltage and resistance hence can be written as:

I= V/R

Plug the given values in the formula:

I = 220 / 100= 2.20 Ampere
