Why do some people stick to old customs and beliefs ?​

• the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.

• a specific custom or practice of long standing

According, to the definition of tradition, it's a set of quality beliefs and practices that are passed down from one generation to another.

Not only Indians everyone in this world are following some tradition. So, what's wrong in it? What to follow is one's own choice. But, what not to follow is defined by the culture. Please note my points here and understand what I am trying to say.
